Guest TheOne
Finalmente!!!! stanno ultimando di upparlo, quindi a brevissimo i link.... intanto eccovi cosa scrive l'autore su RSCNET Link discussione http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=250852 The McLaren F1 Challenge will be available shortly! Until the mirrors are ready, here are a few details about the mod from the readme, and a couple of screenshots to show off the disc brake glow. More to follow. The link will be posted as soon as the downloads are in place. McLaren-F1 CHALLENGE - rFactor v1.0 =================================================== This is an authorized conversion of the McLaren-F1 Challenge mod for rFactor, based on work performed by Hoskins et.al. originally released for GTR 12/05. Please see the attached README-Original.txt for more information. Credits for the GTR mod are listed in section 9. of this file. 1. Installation Procedure --------------------------------------------------- This mod can be installed via self-installer, archive file (rar or zip) or via ModMan. Each of the methods will install files into the following locations: rFactor - ReadMe-MCF1.txt Gamedata\Vehicles\McLaren-F1\* Sounds\MCF1\* Talent\MCF1\* Music\MCF1\* rFm\McLarenChallenge_logo.tga rFm\McLarenChallenge.tga rFm\McLarenChallenge.rfm rFm\McLarenChallenge.bik 2. Uninstall Procedure --------------------------------------------------- Un-installation depends on the method of install. ModMan users should use modman to remove the mod. The self-installer user can unintall via Add/Remove Programs. Archive installers (via .zip or .rar) must manually remove the files listed in section 1. 3. Documented Changes --------------------------------------------------- -- McLaren F1-LM now selectable via class upgrade system -- Major Physics Overhaul for ISI 2.0 engine -- Improved Damage model -- Changes to cockpits including new gauges and steering wheels -- Models revamped to make use of class upgrade system (i.e. Rims are now purchased and not chosen via GENSTRING) -- New Emaps applied to car models -- Discglow, new brake and headlights -- Additional liveries by braintez and Frank Amend -- New and improved sound -- Improved templates by Wardog 4. Car Upgrades --------------------------------------------------- rFactor introduced the upgrades method to allow for the modifying of a vehicle. The mod has been designed with this in mind. - new McLaren LM vehicle class featuring the LM engine, cockpit and steering wheel - each cockpit and steering wheel can be purchased separately, regardless of class level - purchasing the engine will enable the full LM class upgrade - 7 different colored rims - the option to purchase a transparent banner/windscreen 5. Physics Description --------------------------------------------------- This version of the McLaren F1 has some extra class options available. There are 2 engine options available, the selection of which determines whether the car is a GTR or an LM. The standard engine in the GTR is a 627 HP 6.0 litre V12 DOHC 4 valve per cylinder by BMW. The upgrade engine is a 668 HP version of the same block. The physics of this car have been matched as closely as possible to the real car in as many ways as possible, certainly the weight and power, but the most important criteria was to have a true GT race car for rFactor. With this idea in mind the car is designed to make racing online very immersive, and to provide a good illusion of actually racing a car. You will feel like you are with this car. Handling is crisp and responsive. You will find that you need to warm up the tires before full grip is realized. Brake duct openings and radiator openings, will need to be attended to to get the most from the car. There will be a "realistic" and significant difference between a qualifying setup and a race setup. Qualifying times will generally be 1 to 2 seconds faster than the race pace, although it depends on conditions. There are one or two concessions to the rFactor sim, and good quality online racing. One of those is the weight distribution, which is left as an adjustable item, as the feel was not correct in the end with a fixed weight bias of 58.8%. So it is left to the individual to decide where it works best. The other apparent mismatch with reality is the 3 front downforce settings. There are not 3 splitters. In actual fact there are 3 settings, #1 with no splitter, is the low downforce setting. #2, with 1 splitter, (medium downforce), and #3, with two splitters, (maximum downforce). This, combined with a rear wing setting of approximately 3 times the front setting, will make aero balancing of the car possible for any track. Gearing is also completely selectable. You will have to treat the gas pedal with kid gloves, or possibly overcook the rear tires! 6. Skinning How-to --------------------------------------------------- Modifications have been made to the models in order to allow skinning of the following items: - the main car body - the rear wing - the rear grill of the car - the windows of the car - the driver arms, body, legs and helmet Painting the car body: There are 3 different McLaren short tail models represented in the mod: GTR 95, GTR 96 and the LM. Since all of them use the same basic body shape, each is distinguishable via changes to the cockpit and rear grill (in addition to the physics). The templates for the main car body, rear wing and windows will be made available shortly after release. The Driver helmet is based on the Hammer helmet. The body suit (arms, body and legs) are based on the GTR driver model. Please use appropriate search methods to obtain the templates for the driver parts. The McLaren-Body-Template has all 3 rear grills. For the LM, and the GTR '95, no change is needed on the template as the texture will be inherited from the model. For the GTR '96, the grill must be chosen. In addition to the main body texture, an additional file must be saved with the label EXTRA0 appended. (See below for nomenclature example). The Rear Wing is painted on the McLaren-Misc template and requires the label WING be appended to the end of the filename. Each vehicle subdirectory requires at the very least the following files: Team Name Folder |_<skin>.dds |_<vehicle definition>.veh |_<description>.txt In addition, the following files may be included: |_<skin>EXTRA0.dds <-- rear grill for GTR '96 paints |_<skin>WING.dds <-- custom rear wing (black is the default) |_<skin>WINDOW.dds <-- for custom window graphics (requires modification of alpha layer) |_<skin>DRIVER.dds <-- driver suit body and legs |_<skin>ARMS.dds <-- driver suit arms NOTE: Each of the car textures (carbody, wing, rear grill, window) must be saved as either DXT3 or DXT5 to preserve the alpha layer. The alpha layer is required for the e-mapping to render correctly in-game. Please check one of the vehicle subdirectories for examples on the .veh and .txt file. It should be easy to ascertain by studying the existing file structure. Also note that GENSTRINGS are no longer used. Rims are now purchasable via the upgrades section. 7. Known Issues --------------------------------------------------- - Sparks may appear in-cockpit when bottoming out depending on setup and seat position. - Black rims cause a CTD. They will be released when a fix is found. - Users with older ATI cards may experience issues loading rims. This is caused by an incompatibility between Direct-X and the video card driver. To remedy, apply the fix MCF1-WHEELS-ATIFIX.zip into the Gamedata\Vehicles\McLaren-F1 directory (this will overwrite the file McLAREN-F1_WHEELS.MAS). The fix will NOT cause mismatches online. - users experiencing FPS issues may opt to download the low-texture skin pack. Extract to the Gamedata\Vehicles\McLaren-F1 directory. All of the skins in the various subdirectories should be replaced. - The leftmost gauges in the cockpit are static (for now) and the rev limiter light is disabled until certain changes are introduced into rFactor. - There are a few overlapping vertices above the front wheel well in all of the carbody models. A fix may introduce FPS issues so this may be fixed in a future revision. - Insomnia, hallucination, euphoria and/or disorientation. This can be alleviated by periodic breaks from the mod! =) 8. Permissions, Terms and Conditions --------------------------------------------------- This Mod may be distributed as long as all of the original files (including the README files) are left intact. Keeping in spirit of the original BPR mod. Permission and release rights for this mod are as follows: -As an end-user, you are permitted to modify the files for your own personal use. Permission for public release of modifications or alternate physics for this rFactor version is not given. If you would like to release a conversion to another platform with your modifications to the public, YOU MUST INCLUDE APPROPRIATE CREDITS TO THE ORIGINAL AUTHORS AND DOCUMENT YOUR EXACT CHANGES IN YOUR README FILE. YOU MUST ALSO PROVIDE A LINK TO THE BPR ENDURANCE GT MOD HOMEPAGE AT http://bprgt.rsdg.net. We would request that you ask for explicit permission before releasing any such conversion. You are only allowed to release files which you have directly modified. You also concede that any modifications you release may be summarily modified by others of the racing sim community, including the original authors of this mod. This permission policy is intended to help the mod grow and evolve through a community development process. -In addition to the above, any proposed changes or additions to the main branch of the McLaren Mod for rFactor should be sent to Dave Purdy or braintez. Suggestions for changes or modifications are welcomed, but we reserve the right to use or not use suggestions. 9. Cigno
