Il noto portale internazionale di Racesim Central ha pubblicato una completa recensione del recente Prototype-C Mod realizzato per F1 Challenge: il lavoro del team Virtua LM viene premiato con un tondo 10 finale!
The ground-effect cars of the Group C era made tremendous amounts of downforce…we’re talking several thousand kilos at 200mph or so. By placing huge underbody tunnels on the bottom of a race car, getting the ride height down low enough so very little air can under the splitter, then speeding up that small amount of air to reduce pressure, and finally lower the pressure even further by expanding the volume of the cavity in the form of one of those tunnels, enormous amounts of downforce can be generated. Couple that with an efficient body of the car, and you’ve got 4,000kg+ of negative lift at speed.
