Jaap Wagenvoort
Hi guys, As netKar PRO celebrates its 1-year anniversary some changes are announced. From now on I have joined the netKar PRO team. I will carry out various tasks, but the one you will notice most is that I will be the 'linking pin' between you (the community) and the netKar PRO development team. The change The main goal is ... yes, to communicate! In the past, Stefano himself was active in the forums sometimes, then 'disappeared' again. You can imagine he is pretty busy with managing the sim and the relationship with and work for BRD. This resulted in a lack of communication from the team to the actual customers - you guys out there What some of you suggested in the past months was that it was needed to have 'some guy' from the community who can provide official information and deal with questions. Well, that is exactly what happened. Periodically, I will meet with Stefano and we will discuss the current developments, progress and issues. I will then take this information and bring it to you guys out there. This gives 1) the customers official information and a person 'to talk to' and 2) Stefano a little air to breathe. Also, it will make sure that there is always somewhere and someone to go to verify information which will avoid people to jump to wrong conclusions. For now, this communication will occur mostly using the RSC & DI netKar PRO forums. This can change in the future, but for now these are the main 'community communication channels' for me. If you have suggestions in terms of additional channels, let me know. What can you expect from me.. and what not? I won't be able to answer all your questions of course. I also won't be able to give release dates. I can and will answer questions as far as I can and will collect questions and raise them in meetings with the development team. Also, even though I am part of the team, this gives me no real power to influence the developments or priorities. So please do not "shoot the messenger". I am here to provide you with information from the team and to link the team with the community - a link that is really needed. But, priorities are defined by BRD and the netKar PRO development team so please bear this in mind when urged to press the Edited April 12, 2007 by Jaap Wagenvoort

Guest
We also walked through a document that I prepared containing the 'community feedback', which is a list with things that you guys want to see added or improved. This makes sure that the things you really want to see changed are being put into the development team. Of course, time is the most important enemy. Time is limited, especially as the development team is really small and has various responsibilities which doesn't allow them to 100% work on the customer netKar PRO all the time. Is it possible to see this document? Thanks for your infos and for your help during this test races period at simleague I wish you all the best for your new "job" and wait some good news from you. Diablo
Hi Jaap, first of all, thanks for the update! You've sayed "If you have anything that needs clarification, let me know", so here I am with my stupid questions. In your previous post, you wrote: "From now on I have joined the netKar PRO team. Remember, this is an unpaid position which I am doing in my spare time besides my normal work." So, does "Kunos simulazioni" needs to be supported by an unpayed member of its team? It is something like "lavoro in nero"? (sorry but I dont know how to translate it in english, btw, it is illegal here in italy) I really dont understand this, you say that you've joyned NetkarPRO team, but at the same time, that you do this being unpayed in your spare time. Can you pleaseclarify me this? Regarding the addon traks, some times ago you wrote that you were not part of the dev team, and so yuo've been free to realase track conversions from GP4, but now that you are part of the dev team, do you think to release "SPA-Francorchamps"? If so, i dont like this... doing conversions/reverse engeneering on others software houses products it is not really good! (aka, illegal, unauthorized) I work in IT like a software and hardware delevolper, and i've always knew that converting/reverse engeneering of other software houses products is illegal. Can you please clarify me this? Otherwise I'll try to contact microprose and ask them what they think about, I'm really curious to understand this. Do you know something about the "photomode" and the "advanced configuration wizard" for the controls/wheel? Markus72 in his campaing about NetkarPro before its release wrote much abouth this, but when the software came out, no one has found in it those functions. Thanks in advance for your reply. Best Regards.

Markus72 in his campaing about NetkarPro before its release wrote much abouth this, but when the software came out, no one has found in it those functions. Thanks in advance for your reply. Best Regards. To answer your questions: 1) I am part of the nKP team, but I just the team help out with various things. This is done in my spare time besides my own job. This simply means that I am part of the team, but don't receive any money for it. Simple as that. See it as a kind gesture from my side and that I am just one from the community who is now in the position to help. 2) Add-on tracks. The work on Spa has been finished last week. I am now part of the team. Part of this move is that I immediately stop my work on track conversions from other sims as it doesn't match together. However, Spa was finished already before I joined the team so therefore I decided to release Spa (as it is finished now) and then stop with the track conversions for nKP as I'm now part of the team. But because I did Spa in the time prior to joining the team, I see no problem. I also think it's a bit nitpicking to make a problem of this now as I cleary and openly communicated about the approach and explained why and how. I see the responsibility and take it. I only joined the team to help out and stopped this work as I joined the team. Hope you understand. If you think I should still not release, no problem. Let's discuss in pm's then. 3) Photomode and advanced controller configuration: I have no clue where photomode is. Personally the feature doesn't appeal to me at all. I think it's much more important to fix the important things: multiplayer and FPS.. and get a demo with multiplayer. Hope this answers your questions. Guest Ubaldo
Hi Jaap! What about the full pacejka for tires? It will be implemented in this patch, or it will be developed in a future release?
Jaap Wagenvoort
Hi Jaap! What about the full pacejka for tires? It will be implemented in this patch, or it will be developed in a future release? Good question! Stefano did a lot of work on the physics again. The F2000 and F3 are now much better. Stefano did mention something around the tire model some time ago, but I'm not sure if it's the full model in 1.0.3. I need to check with him. Just know that the handling of the cars is better now, especially in terms of catching oversteer. When I know more, I'll let you know.
