Some important instructions for correctly installing 1.0.2 and get it up and running:

1. Download 1.0.2 from the official site.

2. Install 1.0.2 using the installer. Install to a new folder on your hard disk.

3. After installation has been completed, go to your 1.0.1 installation folder. Make sure not to have started nKPro yet. Copy the folders 'drivers' and 'licences'. Then, go to your 1.0.2 folder and paste the folders into the new 1.0.2 directory. Overwrite any existing files or folders.

4. Check if you installed the 1.1 .NET framework. If you didn't, install it first. If .NET 1.1 is installed, launch nKPro v1.0.2. In the menu, click on 'driver' to open up the Drivers menu. If all is correct, you will see the driver profile you copied from the v1.0.1 installation. Important: before closing the window, click the 'ok' button in the driver profile. If you don't do this, you'll not activate the driver profile. After pressing 'ok', you are all set. You can now also copy the controls.ini from the v1.0.1 to the v1.0.2 installation. This way you don't need to reconfigure your controls. Controls.ini is located in the 'cfg' folder.

Important notice for people who launch nKPro servers:

The BANDWIDTH option in nkservercfg.ini is important. Stefano informed me that this value (calculated in Kilobytes per second, not Kilobits per second) should be calculated as following:

Bandwidth formula

- Upstream bandwidth (in Kilobytes per second) * 80%

Example

The GPC server has an upstream of ~8500 kbps (kilobit per second). This is ~1000 kilobytes per second. So, the bandwidth value should be 80%*1000kb/s = 800.

If your upstream is 100 kilobytes per second (~ 2048 kbps), put 80 in your nkservercfg.ini and no values in the region of 10000
