V8 Supercars 1.1

It is with great pleasure we announce the release of the V8Factor 2006 V1.1 Patch.

Requires rFactor v1250 or above and V8Factor 2006 v1.0 already installed.

Version 1.1 - November 2007

Installation:

Follow the instructions in the V8Factor Installer. Please make sure you select the correct path to your rFactor installation. For those who prefer to extract MODs to a temporary folder and copy across manually simply set the install path to your temporary folder of choice.

In this patch:

* Bathurst track fixes & improvements: - New AIW file with fixes and enhancements - AI setup with low wing setting - Added ambient sounds around track - Tweaked a number of textures - Remapped tyre skid overlays - Added distant low LOD mountain (visible with Maximum detail setting) - Added people to empty grandstands - Fixed numerous 'Z fighting' artifacts - Outside of T1 remodelled - Sector markers moved to correct spots - Other small fixes and tweaks

* Physics fixes & improvements: - tweaks to tyre heating and wear - improvement in stability and handling - low ride height exploit addressed - tweaks to pit stop times - tweaks to damage - previous garage setups should not be used

* AI fixes & improvements: - instability issues addressed - extensive changes to AI parameters providing much improved race behaviour - talent files reworked - AI startline performance brought back to human levels

* Custom add on season (AOS) file ready for user editing: - File can be found in the RFM folder and edited without causing online mismatches

* Added missing sounds: - start horns - pit horn - multiplayer race session announcement

* New skins: - addon skins for DJR, FPR, TBE and WPSR teams

* Cars: - tweaks to LOD distances for smoother detail transitions (higher detail on Max setting and better performance on Medium and Low)

Suggested Game Settings:

If you use a wheel as your controller you will get much better feel and response in driving the cars by setting "Speed Sensitive Steering" to zero (move the slider all the way to the left). We suggest you take a little time to 'tweak' all your controller settings to make sure you are getting the most responsive input for your particular controller.

Suggested Player file settings:

Your Player file is called "[yourplayername].PLR" located in rFactor/UserData/[yourplayername] and can be opened in Notepad. NOTE: Editing the PLR file is done at your own risk. We suggest you backup the file by renaming it to [yourplayername].bak before editing.

- Low Detail UI="0" -> Default is "1". Increase the visual quality of the User Interface (UI) by making this value "0".

- Autocalibrate AI Mode="0" -> Default is "0". When this feature is switched on (by changing it to "1") rFactor ignores the talent files, meaning all AI will have the same skills as each other. If you are not creating track learning files make sure its set on "0" for the best AI racing.

AI Limiter="0.00000" -> Default is "1". The V8Factor AI race better when this parameter is set to zero. Otherwise you occasionally get one or two cars having an extremely slow lap, which tends to cause collisions.

Recommended RealFeel plugin settings:

These are subject to personal taste as well as the type of wheel you use.

Special Features:

UPGRADES: V8Factor includes a few goodies to help you enjoy the racing experience. We have utilised rFactor's upgrades system to allow for more customisation options. You can select different levels of cockpit detail for example, add or remove a supplementary mirror, change wheels, change exhaust position, and even change steering wheel types and readout displays. Make sure you take a look at the upgrades system and try some of the changes. NOTE: These upgrades are visual only and have no performance differences. Exhaust positions should be taken into account if painting new skins.

MOTEC MODE FOR VZ: By default the Ford Falcon BA cockpit has a motec display unit while the Holden VZ Commodore cockpit has a PI display. For those who would prefer a Motec display in the VZ there is a small utility to globally change the PI unit to a motec unit in all VZ's. You should find a new icon on your desktop labelled "V8F VZ Motec Display Toggle". While the game is not loaded, simply run it to change to motec and run it again if you wish to return to the PI unit. The icon links to a file in the Gamedata\Vehicles\V8Factor folder called "TOGGLE_VZ_MOTEC.bat" which you can run directly from there if you prefer. NOTE ON MOTEC MODE FOR VZ: in Upgrades for your vehicle under Dash Unit you MUST install the "Mounted on Steering Column" option or you will have no working display at all.

VZ VIRTUAL MIRROR: For those who find the VZ virtual mirror too high there is an alternative mirror file which is set lower. To use it simply go to Gamedata\Vehicles\V8Factor and rename the file "VZ_VMIRROR.low" to "VZ_VMIRROR.gmt". Rename it back again to turn it off.

Installatele solo se avete una scheda video abbastanza potente! ;)

da altra parte avevo letto che le skin a 2048 vanno installate solo se si dispone di 2 giga di ram, ora qui leggo che invece bisogna tenere conto della scheda video, qual e' quindi la giusta da tenere presente?

io ho una geforce7600gt con 256 mega, e' da considerare abbastanza potente? e ho 1 giga di ram e per questo non ho mai installato skin a 2048

da altra parte avevo letto che le skin a 2048 vanno installate solo se si dispone di 2 giga di ram, ora qui leggo che invece bisogna tenere conto della scheda video, qual e' quindi la giusta da tenere presente?
