Jaap Wagenvoort
GPChampionship.com FR2000 International Championship league announced GPChampionship.com (GPC) has gathered a lot of experience with organising nK official International Championship racing. Last year, two championships were held with the incredible F3000 car. With the arrival of the brilliant nKPro, the introduction of nKPro support in GPCOS, a new championship league is announced. This simulation simply screams for a professional simracing league, backup with a professional league management tool a good server and a great collection of drivers from all over the world. GPChampionship will organise the FR2000 International Championship league. First, a 5-event test season will be held. The amazing FR2.0 racecar is selected as car for this league. Racecar The amazing FRenault 2.0 racecar (lively open-wheel racecar with downforce that require concentration and accuracy of the driver) will be used in the test season. In the test season the GPChampionship.com organisation provides the teams with at most two FRenault 2.0 chassis per race. The teams have to preserve these chassis for the whole event. GPC will provide new chassis for each race. Each team has to paint their car in order to participate in the season. League structure The league will start with a test championship in which the limits of nKPro are tested. This test season gives you the chance to collect important experience. Event structure The season will feature 5 events. Each event features two races; both of approximately 25 minutes. The grid for the first race will be decided by a 10-minute qualifying session. The results of the first race determines the grid for the second race. Points are given for the qualifying results and both race results. Participation Maximum allowed drivers per event is 15. If more drivers allocate themselves before the event in the league system, two 10-minute pre-qualification sessions (held just before the qualifying session) will determine the 15 quickest drivers that can participate in the event. The drivers that fail to pre-qualify can not participate in the event. All drivers must pre-qualify in case of too many allocations (or better: amount of drivers that show up in the Driver Briefing on raceday). If 30 drivers allocate, then the field is split in two pre-qualifying groups (order of allocation determines in which group a driver ends up). The fastest laptimes of the 2 pre-qualification sessions are grouped together and the first 15 drivers of that sheet are allowed to participate in the qualifying and races of the event. Realism Of course, FullMode is enabled in the league. This means that drivers have to be careful of their precious FR2.0 car in qualifying. Damaging your car results in possibly missing the first race. Crashing out in the first race could cause missing out the second race as well if the crew is not able to fix the car in time for the start of the seond race. No pitstops in the race are required (as is normal with FRenault 2.0 events). However, if a driver runs into a tyre problem or a driver suffers car damage, it is allowed to let the crew work on the car to try to fix the problem. It is not allowed to ESC back to the pits. Teams are not limited in the amount of tyresets that are used. Unlimited sets of tyres are made available by GPChampionship.com to all teams. Regulations The regulations are based on the real FR2.0 Eurocup regulations. The league applies the real point system and the real FR2.0 race distances (races no longer than 25 minutes). This means we also discard two results of all drivers (which means you can miss one event and not loose points). Season start & raceday The test season is scheduled to start somewhere early June 2006 (possibly June 3rd/4th). The raceday is to be defined. The raceday will be either Saturday evening (~22:00CET) or Sunday morning (~10:00CET). Post your preference in the GPC forum. ... I want to compete! How do I get in? It's not so hard, you need to follow the procedure: Procedure to join the league 1) Sign up at GPChampionship.com GPCOS site. 2) Activate your account and wait until it's validated. 3) Login in and request a position in the league (if you are running a team, you have to sign up that team first and request a position for your team in the league). After you are part of the league, you will be able to see the IP-address & password of the dedicated GPC server. Jaap Wagenvoort
The FR2000 International Championship by GPChampionship.com has now been really started. Last night, at 0:00CEST, Pre-Qualifying (PQ) for the final testrace of the season at Monaco started. Three days of PQ. The fastest 15 drivers will qualify for the testraces at Saturday evening 22:30CEST where a qualifying session and two races are scheduled (8-lap sprint and a 16-lap feature race). On top of it, you can follow the progress of Pre-Qualifying, LIVE, on GPChampionship.com. GPC developed a system that completely automatically processes all laptimes driven in PQ. This makes PQ even more exciting. Guest dido
Well, maybe someone sign-up just to try the new tracks But can you add a 2nd division anytime?
Jaap Wagenvoort
Well, maybe someone sign-up just to try the new tracks True, but I don't hope so as it was clear that this was not the intention. The intention was to test the tracks in GPC, not to create a different distribution channel. The disclaimer also strictly forbids to spread files or links so anyone who does so is not a very interesting or morally nice person But can you add a 2nd division anytime? Yes, no problem at all (except for an increased workload for GPC).

Jaap Wagenvoort
The 15 quickest drivers (out of the total of 42 drivers!) from Pre-Qualifying qualified to participate in the event, which consisted of a 15-minute Qualifying session followed by an 8-lap sprint race (Race 1). The event finished with the 16-lap feature race (Race 2). 14 cars driving on the server - a massive amount and a great example of how fantastic online nKPro racing can be (even on such a dramatic track).
