Guest max 2
hi guys... time is running and the nk porject is stock at the same place where it was on xmas. Kunos has apeard in the italian forum... no good news at all.... nk is not in a good moment right now... the new feature that were applied to the new version (new crash system, new physics for the car, new muplayer code) turn out to overbugged the game, to many problems with all the new stuff and to much work to do to fix it.... kunos has no time as it seems to full work on nk and even the nk-dev-team is not really optimistic on the future realease of the game. so there is no 0.99b coming out soon, there is no working on the project right now that will bring the new beta out of the hangar to us.... some people asked a release without multy but with the new physics... but the answer is no.... I haven't read all the topics and the post of all the dev team, maybe I wrote down just some bul shit, but the story in big line is this. nk is not in developing right now or at least there is no a date for the new beta.. it could be months, years or never... the huge problem seems to be that only kunos can work on the bugs of the new vers. becouse it's a code job. so the dev-team can't do nothing about it and the only things that we can have are just some new (but really good) tracks. hope kunos has the time and the will to go back to his wonderfull work, hope nekar will see some good news soon... even the italian forum seems silence right now... not many post... not many races online.... hope we can get a good challange at least with the version we have, that I would like to remember, the best sim around on the net. Netkar rulez, we rulez and I can't wait to race with all of you.
Guest Overseas77
some people asked a release without multy but with the new physics... but the answer is no...." Are you really sure that was the answer? Or maybe THE ANSWER? I read Kunos writing something different... "ciascuno se la piange e ride da solo..." As Rei Ayanamy says "I'm not your puppet..." Guest mickyknox
Thanks for posting for us max 2, its greatly appreciated. While I understand Kunos' stance 100%, I can't help but feel deeply saddended by this news. Oh welll, time will tell I suppose Simon
Jaap Wagenvoort
max2, many thanks for sharing your thoughts in this English forum. Even though I'm dissappointed with this message/development, I must say that it is not a big surprise. In fact, I would really appreciate a 'final word' by kunos on the situation. We all 10000% support him and understand his difficult situation. All the time I felt and feel that even 0.9.9 is good enough to be used in league-racing and that idea hasn't changed. The new and upcoming nkDeamon/nkTracker together with nkChampionship will (hopefully) be able to provide a big contribution to organising championships with netKar. Developments around nK definately are not standing still. Maybe with our initiatives we can give kunos the right motivation/incentive to continue and overcome difficult programming challenges. Looking at how far nK already us, I am confident he can do it. So: let's accept the situation and continue to make the best out of the excellent version 0.9.9 of our beloved and great sim! Guest wilho
In fact, I would really appreciate a 'final word' by kunos on the situation. We all 10000% support him and understand his difficult situation. Following is not a troll, but it' MHO of the situation here. I'm not supporting kunos at all in this situation. If it is as it seems that the project is discontinued, why won't he release to code? Is he working now in game industrie, has he sold rights of the project's code? Has he used copyrighted code in the project? Is the code badly wirtten and undocumented? Is he just plain possessive? I'm not trying to bash him, but realisticly, those are alternatives I can think of. Now when netkar has relatively quite small user base, without development it will be effectively dead quite soon I think. Jus my $0,02 folks. Guest max 2
ok I write down now some lines in the italian forum asking a short summary of the situation, I don't have time right now to go and take the info from the last 20 topics. I will just translate the things they write in the italian forum if thay replay shortly . I don't want to write down some bad news, but the things I wrote are almost a month old and exually I tought that someone of the staff had wrote it to all of you. thay didn't so I tought it was right to let u know what was going on excatly. I'm really looking for for some challenge. too bad if nk will stay as it is for years... 4 whilo: nk is a son for kunos, I think that he wants to keep it with the hope that somedays he finds the time and the will to work hard on it again. that's why the code will not be release I guess. Guest nikotine
In the last times it seems also the forum is changed , I have my ideas about that and I don't understand why some people is pressing to have the new version without to fuly use the old one . I'm playing netKar since 6 months , and I understand that after 1 year or more the needings can become different , but everyday I have aniway a lot of friends on the forum , online races available , my team's website to update , skin to do , new tracks ..... what can I want more ? I think we all have to say a great Thank You for what we have ( for free ) and to learn to appreciate this gift . I think this is the main point to save the project , without to pretend , only by demonstrating that the community is a part of the project . Sorry if this is not a precise post about the news , but I think this is important to understand the situation ...

Guest max 2
funny I wrote a post in the italian forum asking a summary of the situation (underlining that it was a post that was going to be translated in english to let the people of this forum know what what going on)and the answer had been: SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM and "if u havn't read all the news you should not start a topic with the subject bad news, it can only start a flame in the english forum"... wonderfull I would thanks all the smart guys that can only spam and can't write down something usefull when it's asked. the status of the Development of netkar is BAD! I was just trying to let all of you to know what was going on. in a month nobody has take the time to translate the post of kunos that I'm sure u were eager to read even if the word he says are not what we wanted to hear. I'm down now... sorry If I can't give u precise news, but I have no time to read tons of post. at least in this forum no one flame another for nothing. Guest palmer-jp
Hi max. Thank you for giving us the information. I'm not thinking present situation so bad. Sure, Kunos may not be able to improve nK now. However, he has not lost the zeal to nK yet. We could wait until now... We will be able to wait also for a while. We can not improve physics and graphics or can not add the car. However, track designers are still showing us their great job. And the developers of the user side like us will be able to improve multi-play. I have the hope.
