Guest gpt
I use a joypad and would love to use NetKar to the full. I understand that I can use up axis for accelerate, and down for brake but this results in many spins. I have tried a few techniques to update the controls ini to accept the buttons as accelerator + brake but to no luck. I know that NetKar is to get a realistic driving experience so maybe this isn't too high on your priorities list but is full joypad support going to become available and maybe at some point a fully automatic gearbox? I think NetKar has amazing potential and something like this would bring more into the community. Thanks.

Sorry but i think that what you're asking will never be implemented.. it's not a matter of priority, it's just a decision made by the creator of netKar. As you said the target of netKar is to be the more realistic as possible and avery decision in the development of the product is taken following this direction. I suggest you to buy a wheel (you can find something for 50 euro).. your driving experience will completely change.

As 17mika already told you, netKar aims to be a simulation, so it has to be experienced with realistic controls. I started playng netKar with a wheel but when v096 was released I brought it to a friend and tried with an analog joypad. The result was a very enjoying session, though I found that with joypad I had faster control when the car was oversteering. I think if you want to really enjoy netKar you have to be pleased by its realism, so you HAVE to love manual shifting and you should CLAIM to have the most sensible control peripheral. I hope you will try to challenge yourself with the difficulties you're encoutering and will soon enjoy netKar as it is. Bye
