whats going on exactly?

dont worry, this isnt an impatient "where's the update?!?" thread.

more what im wondering is what exactly is going on in the italian forums? i dont like posting in english in the forums, but theres no way of getting answers otherwise. one thing that seems to maybe be the case is that some people are already using the dK- is this the case, or have i just got the wrong impression?

the reason i ask is that i have heard nothing more about it since its initial announcement and am myself working on some content with the intention of putting it into netKar via the dK, and would just like to know whatever info there is available. a lists of paramaters, lod info etc... anything and everything.

for example i saw a pic of a tire creator or some such thing, but all i see is the picture and dont know whether its merely a graphical thing, whether its to do with setting up the tire physically as well or what.

most people are in the same boat with regards waiting patiently for word from kunos regarding development, and while it can get frustrating i have no complaints over this, but knowing just over the wall in the italian section there is seemingly lots going on, separated from us purely by a language barrier, it really does get a bit frustrating- its no-ones fault, but its annoying.

ive tried translation tools but they simply dont cut it half the time and often create more confusion than they solve. if someone could please give us non-italian speakers the general gist of what is going on (and it may well be nothing), it would be hugely appreciated by a lot of people including myself.

thankyou to anyone that can help,

My english is not so good to be a speaker or a bridge fot the 2 forums, but I will try to write down some lines with the big news coming form the italian side!

The development of Netkar seems to have speed up in the last weeks/month, by the many post of the developer and some screens from the tester looks like the new .99b is almost ready. I can't give any date becouse nobody has posted it in the forum, but I'm sure that something will happend before summer.

The new netkar verion will have some good improvements.

Better physics for the car, better multiplayer system (talking about a much more faster syncing) and new graphics (I just know that the old texture of the modena will not be compatible with the new modena)....

modena... that's the key of the new version.

the new netkar will have ONLY the modena car, yes u heard me right!

The nk dev team decided to remake the modena (and most of the physics) so they will give to the pubblic only a version with the imporvement, the other cars will be relased later one at time. (so us, the player, we can taste everysingle car one at time, and enjoy them better)

for the nkdk I don't know much, as I know they still working on it and I have seen no news when it will be relased or if they are alredy using it.....

I can ask and report the answer.... (after friday becouse I have a test coming up in 3 days..... so no time for nk )

hope I made myself clear, and hope u got the answer u were looking 4!

Maybe Ecio can answer better than I did! wait for his replay too!

addon:

AFAIK nobody (except nk team crew, like Aris and friends smile.gif) owns the nkdk, even the 70gt mod guys are only creating 3d models and collecting datas, at the present moment they cant put their car "inside" netkar (what u can see on the thread are just renders).

The tire creator is something outrunner is working on, i've not observed it very well so i cant tell you if it's only graphical, but i know that Aris owns a "tire creator" where he can put parameters and create different tires. Infact, just in case you dont know, the "restyled" Modena in the upcoming 0.99b will allow you to choose from different brand/type of tires with different behaviours (i really want to try the "drift" tires tongue.gif)

The new version should support the |-| shifter (i dont remember the name) and i suppose the logitech 900

I read you'd like to "put something inside nk with nk|dk". In the original posts about nk|dk, nk crew stressed that this tool will be given only to "proven" mod creators and serious projects

yeah, im fully aware of, and understand, this. im very serious about what i am working on, and would only want my stuff in nK if it met the set requirements smile.gif

thankyou for your reply,

It seems that rain will be implemented, but just in track day mode.

Then i think it will be just dry/wet, not variable weather..
