Guest Brother Glade
Hi! I just installed netKar version 0.99 and everything is great, except sound. It crackles all the time. It doesn't seem to be linked to anything I do, ie. acclerating or braking. It's just constant crackling. My soundcard is Audigy and I have the latest drivers for it. I also have DX9b installed. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance.
Guest Jack57
I've had this problem all along with netKar, and with two different brands of soundcards - SB Live! Value and Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 I just keep hoping it will be fixed for the final release. Unless you and I are the only two with the problem Jack
Guest Xler8
at least you two have sound, i just installed netkar and can hear no engine sounds. it's really pissing me off, because i can hear the wind and the sounds of me hitting things, but no squealing of tires or roaring of engines. all the soundfiles are where they should be and they all work. i've tried re-installing, but it did nothing. any tips on what i could do to fix this? Guest Brother Glade
I've had this problem all along with netKar, and with two different brands of soundcards - SB Live! Unless you and I are the only two with the problem Jack Well if you have the same problem with two different soundcards and I have the problem with mine, then it makes three differentt soundcards and two different manufacturers. So, I think the problem is not in the soundcards, or in their configurations, but somewhere else...?! I really hope this can be fixed, because I really like the feeling of netKar Maybe we should start tracking the problem ourselves.. Guest Ecio
have you both tried to update to the latest windows driver for your audio boards ? PS If i remember well, the new netKar version will use a different audio approach, so maybe u'll be luckier with 0.99b

I can't handle this waiting anymore some months ago kunos said he had changed the audio management inside netkar (maybe different directX APIs?!?) in order to handle multiple audioeffects (i.e. to have a better engine noise). I dont know if he'll introduce this kind of new sounds in 0.99b (i frankly doubt it) but he should have changed at least the "software approach" to the soundcard, so, have faith
